In a pioneering move poised to revolutionize the academic and industrial landscape of Kerala, Industries Minister P. Rajeev has unveiled a visionary proposal to establish industrial parks on the sprawling campuses of higher educational institutions within the state.
The rationale behind this transformative initiative stems from the abundant land resources at the disposal of these institutions, coupled with the evolving academic landscape that demands minimal additional land acquisition. Minister P. Rajeev, in coordination with other pertinent departments, plans to capitalize on this synergy by introducing industrial parks on these educational campuses.
The Minister made this announcement while responding to discussions on demand and grants in the State Assembly, highlighting the potential of this initiative to create a win-win situation for both the industrial sector and the student community. This pioneering endeavor seeks to provide students with hands-on experience through participation in research projects while simultaneously offering the industrial sector a valuable resource pool by facilitating internships for students.
The concept of industrial parks on campuses received a significant impetus when Mahatma Gandhi University recently endorsed a similar proposal, further underscoring the potential of this paradigm shift.
